Lead Attribution for Clinic
The Challenge

Ads were running — but no one knew which ones were actually working.

Smile Line Dental was spending money on Google Ads but had no way to tell which campaigns, keywords, or ad groups were actually producing patient enquiries. Without conversion tracking, the clinic was optimising blind.

The two most important actions — form submissions and phone calls — were going completely untracked. Every optimisation decision was based on clicks alone, not actual leads.

What I Did

Built full tracking infrastructure, then ran the campaigns.

  • Google Tag Manager setup — installed and configured GTM on the clinic's website as the single source of truth for all tracking
  • Form submission tracking — set up GTM triggers to fire a conversion event every time a patient submitted an enquiry form
  • Phone call tracking — configured click-to-call tracking so every tap on the clinic's phone number was captured as a conversion
  • Google Ads conversion import — linked GTM conversion events to Google Ads so the algorithm could optimise for real patient leads, not just clicks
  • Google Search Ads management — set up and managed search campaigns targeting relevant dental keywords in Islamabad
  • Keyword strategy — researched local search terms, set up ad groups by service type (teeth cleaning, implants, whitening, etc.)
The Result
First Ever
The clinic had full visibility into which ads, keywords, and campaigns were producing real patient enquiries — for the first time in their history of running ads.
